Jordan: French pilgrims pray at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Amman
By Munir Bayouk and Carole Alamat/ en.abouna.org :

On Sunday, November 9, 2025, pilgrims from the French parish of Rouen joined parishioners of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Tla' Al-Ali, northwestern Amman, for Sunday Mass which was celebrated by Fr. Dr. Rif’at Bader, and concelebrated by Fr. Ya’qoub Dainouti, in addition to Fr. Jackie Marie, who is always keen to visit the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church with pilgrims arriving from France.

At the outset of the Holy Mass, parish priest Fr. Bader welcomed the worshippers and the French pilgrims to the tune of a French hymn.

After reading verses from the Holy Bible in both Arabic and French, Fr. Bader delivered the homily in both languages. The Arabic-language homily focused on the Gospel reading relevant to life after the Resurrection as well as the attempt by the Sadducees, who did not believe in the Resurrection, to embarrass Lord Jesus by questioning him about it. However, Lord Jesus assured them that life after the resurrection is life with God where there is a life of eternal joy and boundless love.

In French, Fr. Bader welcomed the French pilgrims attending the Holy Mass during the Jubilee Year. He spoke about the Jubilee celebration of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church last September and the parish's joy at receiving the delegations from France. Prayers were then offered by the faithful in both French and Arabic for peace in the Holy Land and the entire world.

Prior to the end of the Holy Mass, Father Jackie Marie thanked Fr. Bader, the deacons, and the parishioners for the warm welcome accorded to them and the opportunity to participate in the Holy Mass in this beloved church. He praised the Holy Land of Jordan and its religious treasures, expressing the joy of the group comprising of 30 people at passing through the Holy Door of the Church of the Baptism during the Holy Jubilee Year, the Year of Hope. He also affirmed that prayers of the French churches are dedicated for Jordan and for peace in the East, especially in the Holy Land.
