On Sunday, May 31, the parish of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Tla' Al-Ali, Amman, celebrated the Holy Mass of the Trinity Sunday marking the end of the Marian Month, and the Feast of the Visitation of Blessed Mary to Elizabeth.
Following the recitation of the Holy Rosary, Parish Priest Fr. Dr. Rif’at Bader celebrated the solemn Mass that was concelebrated by assistant priest Fr. Ya’qoub Dalanti and deacon Jubran Salameh, in the presence of a large gathering of the faithful.
In his homily, Fr. Bader addressed the Holy Bible’s reference to Trinity and Nicodemus' visit to Lord Jesus Christ who revealed to him God's profound love for the world so that He gave His only Son for its salvation. He also touched upon the presence of the Holy Trinity in human life including its revelation at the River Jordan through the voice of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove.
He also explained the significance of the Feast of the Visitation--namely Blessed Mary’s visit to the house of Zechariah, and Elizabeth, and John--as well as encouraging the faithful to honor Blessed Mary and inviting Her and Her Son to settle in their hearts and homes, since Blessed Mary is the ever-present refuge in times of hardship.
Then, Fr. Bader thanked all those who prayed throughout the Marian Month and participated in organizing the parish's various activities, while united in their love for Lord Jesus and His mother Mary.
The Mass concluded with a procession during which the faithful walked carrying a statue of the Blessed Mary adorned with flowers, while holding candles and singing Marian hymns.
To the melody of Marian hymns, the parish brought to a close its Marian Month, during which the Holy Rosary was recited daily.
