On September 15, 2021 an important event took place at the Terra Sancta Theater, Jabal Luwaibdeh, Amman. It is the launching of a new website by Franciscan Sisters/ Missionaries of Mary titled," John the Baptist Center for Christian Catechism". The site, financed by the Pontifical Mission in Jordan, can be checked on this link: www.jcjo.org
The site assists teachers of Christian religion in schools and educational centers in preparing the topics for religious meetings through availing the necessary facilities to successfully carry out the required duties. The site was called "John the Baptist Center for Christian Education" after John the Baptist, the friend of the Lord Jesus, as he calls the young people to follow Lord Jesus Christ and abide by his lofty teachings.
This site will be a source of reference for all those who are involved in Christian education in schools, as well as for parishioners, and for all those seeking religious enlightenment. Furthermore, the site includes a curriculum in Christian catechism that involves children of all ages; serves as a guide for teachers of Christian faith; includes useful videos for the youth as well as hymns and religious films for children and the elders.
Despite the fact that there are several Christian sites that focus on Christianity, yet launching this Arabic-language website is destined to help Arabic language-speakers further grasp Christian teachings.
At a time when it is to be admitted that this website comes at the right moment that is badly needed by everyone, thanks and gratitude are conveyed to the Pontifical Mission in Amman that has extended all kind of support to this new site.
In an address announcing the launching of the website, Sister Sana' Samawi thanked the attendees for the love, support and encouragement they showed through their participation in this occasion.
She referred to the reason for launching this website, noting that there are Christian education centers in many countries that serve educators, including books, and films that we lack in Jordan. Therefore, there was an urgent need to secure the basic things such as books and Christian education courses.
She continued that through the Corona pandemic, a request was made seeking the support of the Pontifical Mission in Jordan to launch this website for the purpose of serving educators from different sects in and out of Jordan. She added that choosing the name "John the Baptist Center" for the site is attributed to the position of this saint in our country, namely Jordan. He was a friend of Lord Jesus while the educators are friends of Lord Jesus Christ who preach in His name and prepare the way for Christ to guide the lives of the children.
