On Monday, October 24, 2022,the priests of the Latin Patriarchate in Jordan began their annual spiritual retreat at the House of Visitation Monastery which will continue until Thursday, October 27. This year's spiritual retreat lectures are presented by Patriarchal Vicar of the Maronite Diocese of Jebbeh in Lebanon Bishop Joseph Naffa'.
The spiritual retreat began with a prayer for the Holy Spirit followed by a meeting with the Latin Patriarchal Vicar in Amman Bishop Jamal Daibes. At the opening session, the priests spoke about the three priestly messages, namely the pastoral, sanctifying, and educational messages. Bishop Daibes also touched on the Synod that the Universal Catholic Church will be marking over the next two years, namely 2023 and 2024.
Under the title, " But who are you, o human being? (Genesis) Bishop Naffa' presents five spiritual lectures to priests based on the first verses of Genesis, namely “The Holy Bible is my book”, “What world did God create for us?”, “The Sabbath was set for man”, “the original sin” and “the mortal sin.”
During the spiritual retreat, which includes among other things celebrations of Holy Masses, Fr. Manuel Bader will present his Arabic-language book, “Homilies of the Liturgical Year A”, while Fr. Aziz Halawa will present his new Arabic-language book "The New Holy Mass " via the zoom application from Jerusalem, while Fr. Humam Khzouz will talk about the documents related to the service of parish priests.
