In an atmosphere abounding with jubilation, the Rosary Sisters celebrated the first religious profession of vows by three sisters of the congregation on the Feast of the Assumption of Blessed Virgin Mary into heaven, at the Church of the Rosary Sisters' Visitation home in Fuheis, on Saturday, August 15, 2026.

The Holy Mass was celebrated by Latin Patriarchal Vicar for Jordan Bishop Iyad Twal, and concelebrated by Archimandrite Paul Nezha, in addition to a number of priests and deacons. In attendance were Mother Sophie Hattar, superior general of the Rosary Sisters, and a large number of people. The three sisters pronounced their “yes” before the altar and committed themselves to the vows of obedience, chastity, and poverty. They are Sister Alize El-Helo, Sister Daline Maqba’a, and Sister Sarah Shahateet.

In his homily, Bishop Twal spoke about the purpose of human life and how a person can discover one’s vocation and the meaning of existence. He urged those present to follow the model of Blessed Mary and Her journey of faith, obedience, and surrender to God. He congratulated the three sisters on this blessed step in their religious journey, and praised their response to the Lord’s call. He emphasized that choosing the Feast of the Assumption of Blessed Mary as the day for their first profession of vows carries a sign of blessing, so that Blessed Mary would serve as a role model in saying “yes” to obedience, service, and complete surrender to the Lord.

Bishop Twal also drew a comparison between the Feast of the Assumption and the celebration of the three sisters, noting that Blessed Mary teaches believers to direct their gaze towards eternity, as the first profession of vows by the sisters represents a starting point in their religious journey, as well as a beginning that requires faithfulness, perseverance, and continued responsiveness to the Lord’s call.

At the end of the Holy Mass, Mother Sophie Hattar delivered an address in which she thanked the Lord for the grace of new religious vocations. She also expressed gratitude to Bishop Twal for presiding over the celebration, to the present priests, and to all those in attendance. She also congratulated the sisters’ families on this blessed gift.

Later, the newly professed sisters received congratulations from Bishop Twal, Superior General Mother Sophie Hattar, and their families, amid an atmosphere of jubilation.
