Jordan: Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament conveys Christmas wishes

Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament Mazen Al-Qadi has conveyed his best wishes to Christians in the Kingdom marking Christmas and New Year celebrations while pleading with God for the continued prevalence of peace. This was reported during Al-Qadi's visit to the Latin Patriarchal Vicariate on Tuesday, December 23, where he met with Bishop Iyad Twal.

 

During the meeting, Bishop Twal highly valued this visit, saying: "The presence of His Excellency the Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament reflects the depth of national ties and affirms that Christmas is a feast of love and unity among all the people of the nation."

 

For his part, Al-Qadi emphasized that Jordan embodies a unique and shining model of common living between Muslims and Christians, who have all the times been true partners in the procession of development and achievements, as they stand hand-in-hand defending the homeland as well as protecting its noble message and authentic values, based on a firm legacy of tolerance, and moderation, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II. Al-Qadi lauded the national and spiritual role that the Church plays in serving society and enhancing the values ​​of good citizenship, He stressed that these religious occasions form a bridge for communication and fraternity between the various national components.
