The parish priest of the Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church in Northern Marka celebrated a Holy Mass on Wednesday, September 24, 202 in the presence of a group of the school's Ambassadors of Hope students and teachers.

This Holy Mass, which marked the Year of Hope and the Jubilee Year, is a call for prayer so as to end human trafficking, to spread peace in the world, and to instill a spirit of peace amongst the Ambassadors of Hope students.

In attendance were students from the Latin School in Northern Marka, Ambassadors of the Springs of Hope Initiative in Jordan which is affiliated with the Talitha Kum, the international network of consecrated Life Against Human Trafficking in Rome. The students served the Holy Mass through reading verses from the Holy Bible, in addition to providing the altar service, presenting supplications, and singing hymns.

In his homily, marking the first meeting with the parish's Ambassadors of Hope, Fr. Twal spoke about the importance of participating in these valuable initiatives which helps students grow up. He also encouraged everyone to recall the life of Saint Josephine Bakhita and to learn from her life experience. He thanked the students and encouraged them to repeatedly participate in this wonderful work, while urging students and teachers to commit themselves to attending daily Masses and receiving blessings.

Later, prayers were offered for the Church and the faithful, so as to be witnesses of mercy and justice, and for every exploited or humiliated persons, so that the Lord  would protect and preserve them. The attendees also prayed for the oppressed, for the poor, for the sick, and for governments so as to enact just laws that protect humanity. They also prayed for consciences to be moved through prayer and action against injustice and human trafficking in all its forms. Prayers were also offered for peace to prevail throughout the world.

After receiving the Holy Communion, one of the students recited a prayer to Saint Josephine Bakhita, pleading her intercession for all those who are persecuted and enslaved. Then, to the tune of the hymn "Under Your Protection," the Holy Mass concluded, and the ambassadors of hope gathered around the altar, with the church's pastor at their center, in an atmosphere of peace and joy. A commemorative photo was taken for this occasion.

It is worthy to note that during the Holy Mass, a number of Ambassadors of Hope students shared their life experiences about the impact of the Springs of Hope Initiative and its activities on their pastoral, social, and family lives. They stressed the importance of caring for others who are suffering and for respecting humans created in the image of God. They pleaded the intercession of Saint Josephine Bakhita so that they may always be advocates of peace and love.

The students thanked the parish priest for his efforts he exerts and his encouragement to continue to be a model of benevolence and peace, setting the school as a role model to be emulated. They also expressed their gratitude to the Rosary Sister, as well as to the coordinator of the Springs of Hope Initiative in Jordan for her efforts, support, and encouragement to continue to remain ambassadors of hope and peace.
