Marking the Feast of Our Lady of Palestine, the Union of Religious Congregations held its first meeting in Jordan on Friday, October 25 under the title, “The Christian Grace, the Year of Prayers—Pilgrims of Grace” in the presence of Parish priest of Our Lady of Carmelite in Hashemi Shamali Fr. Matthew and adviser of the congregation Fr. Rashid Mustrih.
Fr. Matthew enriched the meeting with his unique spirituality, as he focused on living the Christian grace which is a gift from God, and that the three divine virtues are the gate to heaven, since grace is the virtue that drives us to heaven, and that it comes from the Lord, not from us, as He is the gate to heaven.
After the break, a meeting was held on the spirituality of artificial intelligence (AI) and the quantum computers which was presented by AI expert Engineer Hussam Hourani, who presented an introduction on AI, forms of AI, a profound view of AI, quantum computing, AI and quantum computing, spirituality of AI and quantum computers, in addition to limitations, concerns, and ethics of AI.
After the break, Head of the Union and Religious Congregations Sister Sarah Ghneim welcomed Fr. Matthew and the nuns while Sister Caroline Bader welcomed AI expert Engineer Husam Hurani. Then a solemn Holy Mass was celebrated marking the Feast of Our Lady of Palestine by Fr. Rashid Mustrih who came from our Holy Land, the land of the Lady of Palestine and the peace in the entire world.
In his homily, Fr. Mustarih focused on the fact that we, as consecrated people, are missionaries in the first place and that we must experience this message with joy as well as serve with humility, following the example of our Virgin Mother, who rushed to serve Elizabeth. He shared with the nuns his spiritual experience in Rome by attending the canonization of the martyrs of Syria, as it was an occasion to recharge efforts and renew spiritual energy, as the occasion had a profound impact on his spiritual life.
Before the Holy Mass, everyone went to receive the grace of the Sacrament of Confession. It was a fruitful meeting in which the nuns interacted with the two lecturers and prayed to Our Lady of Palestine.
