The Union of Religious Congregations issued the following congratulatory statement marking the election of Pope Leo XIV dated May 9, 2025:

"This is an expression of profound gratitude and joy conveyed by the Union of Religious Congregations (URC)--represented by Rev. Fr. Rashid Mustrih, URC President Sister Sarah Ghneim, URC Secretary Sister Cecile Hijazin, Financial Officer Sister Nuha Sadaqa, all nuns, along with the Talita Kum Movement in Rome, and 'the Springs of Hope Initiative' in Jordan— and associated by heartfelt congratulations to His Holiness the new Pontiff, Pope Leo XIV, on his election as successor of Saint Peter and head of the Universal Catholic Church.

"As we share this joy with all believers around the world during the blessed Easter season, we offer our prayers to the Risen Jesus Christ that He may grant His Holiness Pope Leo XIV with profuse Heavenly blessings so as to guide the People of the Resurrection toward the path of faith, love, peace, and salvation, through the intercession of Blessed Mary, Mother of the Church."
