By Munir Bayouk/ en.abouna.org :

On the first evening of the religious retreat on Monday, 28 October 2024, a Holy Mass was attended by priests of the Latin Patriarchate in Jordan. The tradition is to have the first Holy Mass celebrated by the youngest and the most recently ordained priest. Thus, the first evening Holy Mass was celebrated by Fr. Basil Barancy, and concelebrated by Fr. Roman, Fr. Robin and Fr. Casper, as all of them were ordained this year.

The annual spiritual retreat which lasts from October 28-31, 2024 is held under the title, "The Pastoral Epistles of Saint Paul" at the Visitation House of the Rosary Sisters in Dabouq, Amman.

This year's theme will be presented by Monsignor Khaled Akasheh, bureau chief for Islam at the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue, by holding six meetings. Meanwhile, Director of the Catholic Center for Studies and Media (CCSM) in Jordan Fr. Dr. Rif'at Bader will present a 7th meeting on the Jubilee Year 2025 with the theme, "Pilgrims of Grace".

In addition to the participating priests, Acting Latin Patriarchal Vicar for Jordan Fr. Jihad Shweihat is also taking part in the religious retreat, which is scheduled to include several spiritual meditations, including personal reflections, the Holy Mass, Eucharistic adoration, prayers, the rosary, and periods of silence.
