By Munir Bayouk/ en.abouna.org and Ad-Dustour daily :

In a remarkable educational and scientific achievement, the Latin Patriarchate School in Al-Wasiyyah School, Karak, obtained first place, namely the gold medal at the Arab Nation of Innovation Competition, excelling more than 1,100 projects. The competition saw broad participation from approximately 15,000 students representing 800 Arab schools, making one of the most prominent platforms supporting student innovation in the region.

This nomination was achieved through an advanced scientific project titled, "Life Sense" presented by grade 10 students Shas Jihad Al-Habashneh and Sara Bashar Al-Rashda. The project is a smart home health monitoring device for kidney failure patients, integrating Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence Technologies in order to enable real-time tracking of vital signs, as well as to promote the concept of smart and proactive healthcare.

The innovation is regarded as a qualitative leap in medical technology, as it helps patients monitor their health conditions at home efficiently, reduce the need for frequent medical follow-ups, improve quality of life, and ease pressure on the healthcare sector. This achievement is not confined to the Arab level, as the team has been qualified for the World Finals scheduled to be held in Indonesia in mid-May, where the students are expected to continue representing Jordan with distinction on the international stage.

Within the celebration marking  this accomplishment, Director of Education Department in Karak region Nidal Al-Fatinat visited the school and extended well wishes to its administration, staff, and students. He praised the team's spirit of creativity and excellence, and emphasized the importance of supporting such initiatives that reflect the advancement of the educational environment.

This achievement affirms that investing in quality education and innovation yields tangible results, enhances Jordan's presence in science and technology, and fosters a culture of creativity among students by driving them to offer practical solutions to challenges at a time witnessing an accelerating global shift towards knowledge economy.
