Oman: A renewed space of grace… the blessing of the adoration Chapel of Salah

avosa.org :

The Catholic community of St. Francis Xavier Parish in Salalah, Oman, joyfully celebrated the reopening and blessing of its renovated Adoration Chapel on 30 October 2026.

Bishop Paolo Martinelli, Apostolic Vicar of Southern Arabia, presided over the Holy Mass, and blessed the Chapel. The celebration also included the installation of 24 of our new altar servers, marking another joyful moment for the parish community.

Originally blessed on 1 May 1985 by Bishop Giovanni Bernardo Gremoli, the chapel has been a place of prayer and Eucharistic adoration for generations of faithful.

Over time, deterioration of the pillars and wall plasterwork made renovation necessary. Work began on July 11, 2026, and included structural repairs and improvements to the chapel’s interior, creating a more welcoming atmosphere for prayer.

After three-and-a-half months of work, the chapel has reopened its doors to the faithful, offering a renewed space for silence, prayer and adoration, where hearts can find peace, faith can be strengthened, and lives transformed through an encounter with the Lord in the Blessed Sacrament.
