A total of 74 young people has received the Sacrament of Confirmation at Holy Spirit Parish in Ghala, Muscat during the pastoral visit of Bishop Paolo Martinelli, who presided over the celebration.

On the same occasion, 32 young faithful belonging to Eastern Catholic traditions — who had already received Confirmation together with Baptism — received a special blessing, in a sign of unity within the diversity of rites in the Catholic Church.

In his homily, Bishop Paolo reminded the candidates of their unique vocation in the Church: “With baptism you received your name, which means that each of you is unique and unrepeatable. With the gift of the Holy Spirit, you will be able to discern your calling and carry out your mission.”

He also encouraged them to live their faith with courage and generosity:

“Open your hearts to the grace of God and bear fruits of holiness, of goodness. Be protagonists of a new world.”

The celebration was a joyful moment for the parish community, gathered in prayer to accompany these young people as they continue their journey of faith strengthened by the gift of the Holy Spirit.
