In the Philippines, the journey of preparation for the 25th anniversary of Radio Maria continues. This spiritual path, entitled “Road to 25 Years,” includes various pastoral initiatives and moments of encounter with local communities and will conclude on 11 February 2027.

In recent days, the Radio Maria’s mission made a stop at Loving Mother Hospital in Tarlac (where the Radio’s headquarters are). Here the station director, Fr. Gerald Cortes, led a visit dedicated especially to the patients hospitalized in the facility.

During the meeting there were moments of prayer and, most importantly, the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick was administered, thus bringing spiritual comfort to the patients and their families. Fr. Cortes visited the different hospital wards, stopping beside the beds of the sick to pray with them and to offer words of hope.

Several healthcare workers also took part in the initiative, joining in during the moments of prayer and helping create an atmosphere of deep recollection and devotion.

This gesture is meant to recall that the mission of Radio Maria is not limited to radio broadcasts but is also expressed through a concrete presence alongside those who are suffering. Hence, the Radio continues to fulfil its vocation of being a “Christian voice in every home” by becoming on this occasion also a sign of consolation and closeness in places of illness and suffering.
