The Grand Master of the Sovereign Order of Malta, Fra’ John Dunlap, has participated in the Saving Sight Banquet, a charity event organized by the St John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital Group (SJEHG) to raise funds for its healthcare projects in the Holy Land and Gaza.

The event, held in London’s Mansion House, was attended by leading personalities from the diplomatic, religious and philanthropic worlds, united by the common goal of ensuring expert eye care for the most vulnerable, regardless of religion, ethnicity or ability to pay.

The presence of Grand Master Fra’ John Dunlap emphasized the long-lasting bond with the Venerable Order of Saint John, based particularly on the collaboration between the St John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital Group and the Order of Malta’s Holy Family Hospital in Bethlehem, a point of reference for maternal and child health in the region.

All proceeds from the Saving Sight Banquet will go directly to the activities of the SJEHG’s eye hospital, saving the sight and improving the lives of numerous patients in the Holy Land and Gaza. Precisely in Gaza, the Order of Malta is actively involved in providing humanitarian aid. Since May 2024 it has been cooperating with the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem, delivering some 300 tons of food aid to thousands of families, and is aiming to launch a healthcare service.
