Bishop Paolo Martinelli has visited the Arabic-speaking community in Jabal Ali, Dubai, and on that occasion he announced that he will travel to Lebanon for the Papal visit (30 November–2 December).
As he regularly does, the bishop dedicates time to the various communities across the Vicariate. On Monday, 10 November, he spent several hours with the Arabic-speaking community—celebrating Mass, meeting the catechists, and sharing a meal.
Bishop Paolo highlighted the importance of the Apostolic Journey for the entire region, which has been suffering from war and violence for more than two years. The motto of the visit, “Blessed are the peacemakers” (Matthew 5:9), underscores its central purpose.
As a member of the Conference of the Latin Bishops of the Arab Regions (CELRA)—which gathers all Catholic bishops of the Middle East and Gulf Region—Bishop Paolo was invited by the Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Béchara Boutros Raï, to join the visit of Pope Leo XIV.
Fr. Maged Moussa and more than 50 young people from the Arabic-speaking community will also travel from the UAE to Lebanon to take part in the Papal meeting with young people and in the Holy Mass.
