Responding to the call of Pope Leo XIV to pray for peace throughout the world, the faithful of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Ghala, gathered in large numbers for a special Rosary Procession for Peace in the World on May 30.
The event was a beautiful expression of faith, unity, and devotion as parishioners joined Catholics around the globe in praying for an end to war, violence, hatred, and division, and for the gift of lasting peace among all nations.
During the evening Solemn Mass special prayers were offered for peace in the world, for world leaders, for countries affected by war and conflict, and for all those who suffer because of violence, displacement, and injustice.
Following the Holy Mass, the faithful participated in a prayerful Candlelight Rosary Procession through the church premises. The Rosary was recited in various languages, reflecting the multicultural and international character of the parish community. This beautiful expression of unity brought together people of different nations, cultures, and languages as one family of faith, united in prayer through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
A special feature of the procession was the participation of around forty ladies dressed as “Queens,” representing the various titles of the Virgin Mary.
The entire church compound was beautifully illuminated, creating a serene and prayerful ambiance that enhanced the spirit of the celebration. The sight of hundreds of faithful carrying candles and praying together created a moving and memorable testimony of Christian faith and hope.
