Under the title, "One Human Family", Caritas Jordan employees gathered on Saturday, November 30, 2024 in the framework of their regular gatherings to attend a Holy Mass at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Tla' Al-Ali, western Amman. during which they thanked Lord Jesus Christ for His blessings, benevolence, and care throughout this year that is about to come to an end.

The Holy Mass was celebrated by Acting Latin Patriarchal Vicar for Jordan Fr. Jihad Shweihat, while concelebrated by parish priest Fr. Dr. Rif'at Bader and assistant priest Fr. Ya'coub Daynoti in the presence of Caritas Director in Jordan Mr. Wa'el Suleiman, Lebanese Minister of Social Affairs, Mr. Hector Hajjar, and the secretary general of the ministry.

At the outset of the Holy Mass, Fr. Bader said that the Church celebrates on this day the feast of Saint Andrew, who welcomed "the brethren who plant seeds of love as had been the case with the brotherly relationship prevailing between Andrew and Peter the Apostle with regardsto several people who are tired and burdened."

Fr. Bader added: "We jointly thank God for the blessing of these years during which Caritas has provided services with honesty, sincerity and loyalty. I am a witness to all these years in which Caritas has transcended several global, regional and local storms. Yet, it has always provided permanent assistance and generosity."

In his homily, Fr. Jihad Shweihat called for referring to this day not merely as an annual meeting, but rather as an annual feast for Caritas, which means love, noting that Lord Jesus Christ summarized all the commandments of the Old Testament in the commandment of love stating, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." (Matthew 22:37(

He added, "You have crossed every Jordanian city, from the north to the south, passing through all our cities and villages, working day and night with enthusiasm and activity, supported by all religious institutions in the entire world, because love is a burning and glowing fire that spreads everywhere. You are its torch, its fire, and its messengers."

Fr. Shweihat  pointed out that love is a testimony,  while Caritas' message is readiness, work, benebolence, love, and testimony for all people in society without discrimination because love is for everyone. He concluded his homily by addressing the Caritas Jordan employees saying: “Always incorporate love with this apostolic glow and zeal."
