With the hands of the clock announcing the advent of the New Year 2025 at the wee hours of January 1, 2025, the Catholic Center for Studies and Media in Jordan conveys heartfelt and best wishes to His Holiness Pope Francis, Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem His Beatitude Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Latin Patriarchal Vicar for Jordan Fr. Jihad Shweihat, priests and nuns, as well as the people of the world.
With years taking different numbers, what is important in this regard to note is that what decorates these new numbers is merely dedicated and sincere efforts that need to be taken by world leaders and decision-makers to overwhelm the world with peace, brotherhood and common living ,whereby when these factors prevail all social problems that afflict humanity will be consequently be eliminated.
May the new year usher in a new phase of life on Earth, especially in the Holy Land, with nations adhering to the logic of peace, stability and common living based on justice and equality, so that prosperity, happiness would prevail, and the sun of a bright future would shine among nations to serve as a beacon of hope in fraught and fractured times. May the world shift from war to global peace, from hunger to satiety, from despair to hope, and from injustice to firmly-rooted justice so that people may enjoy a life under the aegis of equality.
As Lord Jesus said, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid,"(John 14:27) may the world dismiss fear and proceed with firm steps towards peace.
With the turn of the new year, the Catholic Center for Studies and Media's affiliated website (en.abouna.org) in Jordan will unwaveringly continue in the New Year 2025 to disseminate the message of love, common living, and peace which may be attained by peace lovers as “blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” (Matthew 5:9)
Happy and peaceful New Year 2025.
