The American University of Madaba (AUM) and the King Hussein Foundation (KHF) have signed a memorandum of understanding at the Foundation’s headquarters in Amman, establishing a strategic framework for cooperation aimed at supporting students, advancing interdisciplinary education, and enhancing community engagement.
The agreement was signed by Professor Adi Arida, president of AUM, and Ms. Hana Shahin, executive director of the King Hussein Foundation, in the presence of representatives from both institutions.
Under the MoU, AUM and KHF will launch joint initiatives through the Foundation’s affiliated centers and institutions, including the Institute for Family Health, Jubilee School, and the National Music Conservatory. These initiatives will create sustainable educational, professional, and cultural opportunities, while fostering research collaboration and community service.
The partnership holds particular significance for AUM students, who will gain access to practical training and field experience at the Institute for Family Health, strengthening their readiness for careers in related fields. The agreement also provides psychological and behavioral support services for students, alongside training for university staff in psychological first aid to ensure a holistic campus environment.
The Jubilee School will play a pivotal role by sharing its expertise in innovation, research, and leadership, offering opportunities for joint academic and community projects, mentorship, and career guidance. Additionally, the National Music Conservatory will provide students with avenues to refine their creative and artistic skills through collaborative workshops, awareness campaigns, volunteer activities, and applied research projects.
Following the signing, both parties emphasized that this collaboration reflects their shared vision of leveraging academic resources and community expertise to enrich education and contribute to local development.
