Dr. Suhail Odeh, associate professor at Bethlehem University the Department of Technology, has been awarded Second Place at the Palestine TechnoPark AI Research Award (TAIRA), held during Palestine AI Week 2026.

The award-winning research, titled “Breast-Cancer Detection and Characterization in Underserved Areas Using a Two-Step Deep-Learning Pipeline: A Multi-Centre Study in a Resource-Limited Setting,” was supported by Bethlehem University’s Internal Research Grant. 

The study reflects Bethlehem University’s commitment to advancing innovative, locally driven research that addresses real-world healthcare challenges.

This recognition, presented during an official ceremony on 27 April 2026, highlights Bethlehem University’s growing role in artificial intelligence research in Palestine and underscores the impact of its academic community in contributing to technological and healthcare advancements.
