In a step designed to enhance educational projects and to support children in local communities, Caritas Jordan has renewed its cooperation agreements with the schools affiliated with the administration of the Latin Patriarchate Schools and the Greek Catholic Vicariate.
The cooperation agreements signed this year includes 17 agreements that cover eight schools affiliated with the Latin Patriarchate and four schools affiliated with the Greek Catholic Vicariate, including a kindergarten of the Association of Gibraltar, as well as Al-Ahliya and the Bishop's Kindergarten in Husun. These projects will be carried out in eight governorates, namely Ajloun, Irbid, Balqa, Amman, Mafarq, Zarqa, Madaba and Karak.
Caritas Jordan stresses that providing children with educational opportunities and empowering them to continue their education is essential to ensure the development of their abilities, which contributes to bolstering the socio-economic development of their communities. The program includes providing children with academic, social, and psychological support with particular attention to children with disabilities to ensure that they receive an appropriate education.
The program aims at preparing children to be enrolled in schools by providing an inclusive learning environment, where 1,010 children aged 4-12 are enrolled. The program also includes training 192 teachers to provide education in a way that suits children's needs, as well as to improve school infrastructure to ensure a safe learning environment.
In order to promote the role of the family, parents and guardians also engage in the learning process through holding lectures and workshops aimed at creating a positive environment that supports children in achieving their educational and professional aspirations.
Through this collaboration, Caritas Jordan seeks to promote children’s right to education by preparing them to be active members of their communities, with a focus on building a sustainable future centered on inclusive education and development. These agreements come as part of educational projects carried out throughout the year in partnership with Caritas Germany, the German government, Caritas Austria, the Austrian government, and the Catholic Relief Services.
