Fr. Khaled Akasheh delivers a lecture on his experience in dialogue, in presence of Prince El Hassan

On Monday, April 7, 2025, His Royal Highness Prince El Hassan Ibn Talal, President of the Royal Institute for Inter-Faith Studies (RIIFS), patronized a lecture at the RIIFS titled, "Thirty out of Seventy in the Service of Christian-Muslim Dialogue: Is There an Evaluation?" The lecture was delivered by  former Bureau Chief of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Relations Fr. Dr. Khaled Akasheh.

 

In his address, Prince El Hassan referred to the need to strengthen cultural dialogue among followers of religions and to emphasize the need for collective action in confronting tyrants, invaders, and extremists.

 

For his part, Dr. Akashah addressed several topics in his lecture. The first of which was relevant to the work he carried out during his years of service at the Holy See in the Vatican's Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue. The second one touched on the lessons learned.

 

He also addressed a number of sub-topics, including his early work before going to Rome, the first steps, the responsibilities he was entrusted with, the specificity of his relationship with the Royal Institute for Inter-Faith Studies, and ecumenical consideration regarding relations with believers of other religions, including Muslims.

 

Furthermore, he touched on other sub-titles, including the Harvest of the Thirty: Thoughts, Ideas, Lessons, and Reflections: Divine Providence; Harmonizing Dialogue and Mission; Rejecting Hypocrisy; Rejecting Controversy;  With Kindness and Strength; I Will Not Waste Time, I and the Arabic Language,  The Power of Islam; Being Influenced by Islam, I Like It and It Bothers Me, Is There an "Imprint"? and Some Self-Criticism, among others.
