On Saturday, December 13, Latin Patriarchal Vicar for Jordan Bishop Iyad Twal, celebrated Holy Mass marking the Third Sunday of Advent at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Tla’ Al-Ali, northwestern Amman. The Holy Mass was concelebrated by parish priest Fr. Dr. Rif'at Bader, assistant priest Fr. Ya'qoub Daynoti, deacon Jubran Salameh, and a number of priests, in the presence of a large congregation of nuns, parishioners, and community members.
At the outset of the Holy Mass, Fr. Bader welcomed Bishop Twal, and expressed appreciation for his presence to celebrate the Holy Mass and inaugurate the new Marian grotto. He also welcomed the family of the donor of the statue, Dr. Hadi Emile Bader including his parents and relatives, as well as the parish's guest of honor, the renowned sculptor Fadi Rahbani, who had earlier come from Lebanon.
During his homily, Bishop Twal thanked the parish priest for celebrating the Holy Mass and inaugurating the new grotto as a token of love for the Blessed Mary. He also addressed the Biblical readings for the Third Sunday of Advent, offering a profound theological perspective that guides us towards spiritual preparation for Christmas. He also discussed the spiritual role of humanity in enhancing faith and drawing closer to God.
At the end of the Holy Mass, Fr. Bader spoke about the title addressed to Blessed Mary, namely "Undoer of Knots," which dates back to the year 1700 which spread from Germany to the entire world noting that the late Pope Francis frequently prayed to Blessed Mary, Undoer of Knots. Then Fr. Bader expressed his gratitude for the generous donation by Mr. Hadi Bader and his family, and thanked the artist Fadi Rahbani and all those who worked tirelessly to bring the grotto to light.
Following the Holy Mass, Bishop Twal, along with the parish priest and a group of priests, inaugurated the new grotto, namely the Grotto of Blessed Mary Undoer of Knots. A large group of parishioners gathered at the grotto holding candles and scattering rose amidst recitations of Marian hymns.
Later, the faithful flocked to the grotto to pray, and light candles in a sublime atmosphere of joy.
