Jordan: Amabssadors of Hope get ready to welcome Christmas
By Munirt Bayouk/ en.abouna.org :

In an atmosphere abounding with faith and hope, the Ambassadors of Hope at the Marka Parish "Mary Mother of the Church", eastern Amman,  gets ready to welcome the birth of the King of Justice and Peace as Christmas celebrations approach.

In this framework, the Ambassadors of Hope--affiliated with the Springs of Hope Initiative in Jordan which originated from the global Talitha Kum network--met with Fr. Girgis Narouz, a priest from Egypt. They gathered at the Nativity Scene for a spiritual meeting that included a short prayer and the lighting of the Christmas candle, also known as the candle of liberation from the scourge of human trafficking.

During the meeting, the students offered prayers for curtailing human trafficking. They lit the Talitha Kum candle, which carries a message of awareness and the preservation of human dignity. The participants affirmed that humanity is created in the image of God and that everyone is called to jointly proceed on a shared journey to protect human dignity that is free from all forms of exploitation.

This meeting is part of a program designed to prepare students for celebrating the birth of Lord Jesus Christ and the new year, and to bid farewell to the Year of Hope. Through prayer and candle lighting, the Ambassadors of Hope embodied the true message of Christmas, namely that hope is a light that dispels darkness, and that hope is the path to a more just and peaceful world.
