Holy Land: Bethlehem celebrates the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Lord Jesus
lpj.org :

The Salesian Family in Bethlehem celebrated the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on Friday, June 6, 2025, with a solemn Mass held at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. The Mass was presided over by Msgr. Ilario Antoniazzi and Fr. Jisidos, head of the Salesian Monastery, along with several priests. The celebration was attended by many religious, faithful, and members of scout groups, reflecting a vibrant and faith-filled community gathering. Among the attendees was the Mayor of Bethlehem, Mr. Maher Canawati, as well as representatives of local institutions.

During his homily, Msgr. Antoniazzi spoke about God’s love for humanity, emphasizing how God sent His only Son to redeem the world. He said, “Everything begins with God. You ask, who is the Christian? The Christian is the one who believes that God loves him. God’s love for mankind is manifested in Jesus Christ and His love for all people.” He continued, “Never forget, you who have faith, how precious you are in God’s eyes. Jesus Christ died on the cross for you. Through His resurrection, He gave us eternal joy. At the foundation of everything is God’s love—He forgives our sins and helps us.”

Following the Holy Mass, the traditional Eucharistic procession took to the streets of Bethlehem. The faithful walked behind the Blessed Sacrament, accompanied by hymns and religious music performed by the band of the 6th Salesian Scout Group. The procession passed through the Old City of Bethlehem, beginning at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and ending at the Church of the Nativity.
