A delegation from the Bible Society of Jordan has visited the Latin Patriarchal Vicariate in Jordan to convey well-wishes to Bishop Iyad Twal marking his episcopal ordination and appointment as Latin patriarchal vicar in Jordan.

The delegation included Secretary General of the Bible Society Mr. Mundher Ne'mat and the administrative team. During the visit, the delegation extended congratulations to him on behalf of the Bible Society and its members of staff.

During the meeting, the Bible Society team provided a comprehensive overview of the most outstanding programs and services it provides to the Jordanian society, including refugees and church families, with a focus on the close cooperation and ongoing partnership with the Latin Church and its institutions. Mr. Ne'mat also reviewed the establishment of the Bible Society since its founding in the 1970s, referring to the important role it plays locally and internationally, particularly through cooperation between the United Bible Societies and the Holy See.

For his part, Bishop Twal expressed his appreciation for the role played by the Bible Society and welcomed efforts designed to strengthen mutual cooperation and partnership. He also underlined the importance of joint work for the good of the Church and Jordanian society, and pointed out the importance of arranging future meetings for joint planning and coordination with the church institutions affiliated with the vicariate. He also shared with the visiting delegation the story of his priestly vocation, speaking of the spiritual and human motivations that shaped his desire to dedicate his life to the service of the Lord and the Church.

The meeting concluded in a spirit of brotherhood and cordiality which was pervaded by an atmosphere of mutual gratitude and a desire to strengthen joint efforts in the service of God's word and humanity.
