The event was attended by security department chiefs, garbage collectors, and a number of children with cancer from Jordan, as well as children from Gaza who receive treatment in Amman, in addition to families living near the church.

Parish priest and CCSM Director Fr. Dr. Rif'at Bader welcomed the attendees on behalf of the organizing parties, and emphasized that this iftar meeting represents a microcosm of greater Jordan. He thanked the Almighty God for the blessing of national unity and the blessings of security and stability in Jordan, the land of goodness and blessings, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein and Royal Highness Crown Prince Al-Hussein Ibn Abdullah.

Fr. Bader pointed out that the iftar banquet is an expression of gratitude to the security departments, the impregnable bulwark and watchful eye on the nation's security and stability, and an appreciation for the nation's workers for their work in serving Jordan, and for the cooperation with the Greater Amman Municipality.

Fr. Bader also greeted the "On Hope" charity association, directed by Mrs. Fadia Nayef Haddad, along with the families and suffering children from Gaza, which remained steadfast and resilient  all the time, as well as the children residing in Jordan who are receiving medical care at the King Hussein Cancer Center, whom he wished full recovery.

Two days prior to marking Eid Al-Fitr, Fr. Bader extended his wishes to the extended Jordanian family, pleading with God that next year will bring  about lasting security and stability, and that Arab aspirations for Palestinian independence on national soil will be fulfilled, with a Palestinian state and Jerusalem as its capital.

Caritas Jordan presented gifts to the garbage collectors and the sick children. The Pastoral Council of the Sacred Heart Church, the boy scouts and guides, the Christian Youth, and the Charity Committee participated in organizing the event.
