Jordan: The Catholic Center for Studies and Media a gem in the field of Christian media

By Munir Bayouk/ en.abouna.org :

On Wednesday, August 27, 2025, the Catholic Center for Studies and Media (CCSM) in Jordan marked the 22nd anniversary of the launching of its Arabic- and English-language websites, namely abouna.org and en.abouna.org.

The launching of the two Christian media websites has been an untold story which went through several stages that underwent extensive efforts until it reached the present aspired goals. The CCSM, with a handful of employees, has managed over the years to conduct thaumaturgic achievements that so far have exceeded the desired expectations.

The CCSM has been playing a key role by expeditiously keeping the followers of its sites apprised of any events and breaking news at the local, regional, Arab, or global levels through its Arabic and English language websites. The speedy coverage of relevant breaking news occurring in various parts of the world reflects the efficiency of the CCSM's members of staff.

The past 22 years have been years constituting a bright light that illuminated several aspects of advanced Christian media. This success is greatly attributed to immense appreciation  conveyed by the Latin Patriarchate to the extended spiritual, cultural, human and international mission designed to further bolster the activities of the local and universal Churches. Consequently, the CCSM websites serve as a reliable source of authentic and reliable information with religious news covering the Vatican, the Holy land, the Arab world, and the world at large. With the CCSM's websites in addition to its Facebook sites in both English and Arabic languages, the latest relevant studies have indicated that hundreds of thousands of people view these sites on daily bases, which has been a source of encouragement.

With the untiring CCSM's efforts to spread the message of common living and peace, it promises the readers of its sites and those who follow its Facebook sites that it will not spare efforts to continue on the right path of disseminating the message of love, harmony and common living.

Over the past years, the CCSM was able to obtain a firm foothold in the Arab Christian media by being open to the fraternal Churches in a lofty ecumenical spirit, as well as by maintaining cordial relations with  religious leaders who regularly contribute by writing articles, and with others who initiate seminars and pastoral activities.

Many thanks are conveyed to people and institutions whose partnership with the CCSM has been invaluable. This includes Caritas Jordan,  the German Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in Amman, and the American University of Madaba among others.

The CCSM promises to continue its mission of serving the cause of humanity, namely common living, peace, while striving to promote the aspirations of the  Middle East peoples to live in harmony  through fruitful cooperation.
