On Sunday, December 5, Fr. Dr. Rif’at Bader celebrated Holy Mass on the eve marking the Feast of Epiphany at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Na’our with the Mass concelebrated by parish priest Fr. Bashir Bader. During the Holy Mass, the new church door was consecrated--as it was held in conjunction with the celebration of the first centenary of the founding of the parish--with a generous contribution by late Mr. Elias Mikhail and his family, who passed away before the door was completed. In the presence of his wife Mrs. Nelly Tashman (Um Nidal), Fr. Bashir, the parish priest, extended his sincere thanks to her and prayed for the soul of her husband Abu Nidal.
In his homily, Fr. Bader said that the Feast of Epiphany is the realization of the goal for which Lord Jesus Christ came, namely his appearance to all nations and calling on believers to be witnesses to this light in the world, in the model of the Magi, by being daily filled with love, tenderness, kindness, and humility to be spread throughout the world from the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the patron of the Church in Na’our.
Holy water was sprinkled on the door, designed by interior designer Diala Bader Makhamreh, with an image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus placed on both sides. Prayers of blessing were recited by the door that was inaugurated in beautiful conjunction with the opening of the five Jubilee Doors in Rome, commemorating the 2025th Jubilee Year marking the birth of Lord Jesus Christ. Later, Fr. Bashir presented an honorary shield to the family of the late Abu Nidal Haddad.
