On Monday June 24, 2025, the Latin School for Iraqi Refugees in Northern Marka marked on Monday, June 24, 2025, the end of the academic year and the graduation of a new batch of its students, in an atmosphere reflecting faith and joy. It was in an exceptional ceremony characterized by spirituality and excellence, and left a joyful atmosphere among the attendees.
The graduation ceremony was patronized by Latin Patriarchal Vicar for Jordan Bishop Iyad Twal. In an emotional address, he said: “This is the most impressive graduation ceremony I have attended this year, as I felt ineffable love and warmth, so many heartfelt thanks are conveyed for these moments.”
On the other hand, Fr. Khalil Ja'ar expressed his feelings, saying, “The ceremony gave a special spiritual character, as if the spirit of God was present among us at every moment.” The faithful character was evident throughout the ceremony, as the presence of Our Blessed Lady had a clear and impressive feeling which was reflected in the hymns, words and symbols that overwhelmed the hall with a special grace.
Sister Cecile Hijazin expressed her profound gratitude saying: “I am grateful to this school which gave me an ineffable and unique feeling of peace and inner joy.” For her part, Mrs. Fatima Alexis Le Cour Grandmaison who deputized for the French ambassador said: "I am grateful to school principal Mariam Al-Kajal, whom I consider to be one of the most wonderful administrators I have met in my life. I felt she has genuine leadership exuding love and perspicacity."
The ceremony has been a culmination of an academic year full of benevolence, and a blessed beginning for graduates who will confidently proceed towards the future with hope.
