en.abouna.org :

Msgr. Mauro Lalli, Chargé d’Affaires of the Apostolic Nunciature in Jordan, in the presence of diplomats, members of religious orders and priests, hosted on Monday, November 8, the farewell greeting to Dr. Federico Vidic, First Secretary of the Italian Embassy in Amman who is about to leave for his next mission in Switzerland.

Msgr. Lalli noted in his speech how diplomacy is a world-oriented vocation, a service devoted to build bridges, break down walls and open physical and spiritual borders, thus summarizing the Magisterium of Pope Francis, who often mentions Jordan as an example of coexistence. Dialogue between religions and welcoming of the refugees are also the two pillars that are very dear to His Majesty King Abdullah II Bin Al Hussein and the Hashemite dynasty.

Msgr. Lalli thanked Dr. Vidic, who in these four years have held the cultural and commercial offices of the Italian Embassy and has also overseen the initiatives of Italy for interreligious dialogue and for minorities. Dr. Vidic has fulfilled these tasks with competence and mutual respect also by creating opportunities for collaboration between Christian Churches and the leaders of the Islamic Communities.

The Pontifical Representative expressed his appreciation for what Italy has done in recent years and handed over to Dr. Vidic the medal of the Pontificate of Pope Francis, as an institutional recognition, and a Rosary blessed by the Holy Father to indicate the faith reasons that inspired Dr. Vidic during his mission in Jordan, as a part of the Holy Land.
