Preparations that are in full swing at the Church of the Baptism of Lord Jesus Christ, at the Baptism Site, for the grand celebration marking its inauguration due to take place on Friday January 10, 2025. On Monday, January 6, the new altar of the church was installed as it will be consecrated during the inauguration Holy Mass to be celebrated by pontifical legate His Eminence Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin.

The Holy Mass will be concelebrated by Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem and President of the Assembly of the Catholic Ordinaries of the Holy Land, in the presence of bishops, priests, in addition to a large number of people from Jordan and abroad.
