Jordan: Wells of Hope hold spiritual training workshop
By Munir Bayouk/ en.abouna.org :

On Sunday, May 11 marking the Fourth Sunday of Vocations, the Wells of Hope Initiative in Jordan held a training workshop in cooperation with the Sanadak Initiative titled, "Our Life with Jesus and with Jesus is Sweeter." The workshop was held by Talita Kum, which aims at promoting a life characterized by dignity and freedom of God's children, curtailing human trafficking, and  listening to the voice of the Lord.

At the outset of the training workshop, morning prayers were said, whereby the participants offered a prayer of thanks to God and recited the rosary marking the election of a Pontiff for the universal Catholic Church. They pleaded with the Lord to profusely overwhelm Pope Leo XIV with heavenly blessings so as to lead the flock toward the path of eternal happiness.

Later, Fr. Khalil Ja’ar, parish priest of Our Lady Mother of the Church parish in Marka, blessed the participants in this workshop hoping that they would accept the voice of the Lord so as to serve Him and His flock.

Then, Sister Rosemary gave a lecture on the importance of listening to God's call in one's life, which was followed by  a presentation given by Dr. Ra’eda Sweidan  designed to raise awareness on the phenomenon of human trafficking and how to combat this societal scourge. She provided the attendees with relevant  information, the Synod's journey, the importance of "walking together," as well as how we must listen to the voice of the Lord, listen to one another, and share experiences.

After welcoming Dr. Nisreen and the Sandak Initiative team, the participants sang hymns, followed by a  valuable lecture presented by Dr. Nisreen who focused on the topic of "Steps Toward God's Will," the relationship between humans and God, how to live according to God's will and work to fulfill His will in life despite difficulties and challenges, in addition to the importance of prayer when decision-making. Dr. Nisreen also emphasized the importance of listening to God's Word in our daily lives, given its positive impact on decision-making.

Then, the attendees participated in group activities and games that strengthened the bonds of love, and brotherhood  among them. Later, the participants took time to meet with the Lord, hear His voice, light candles, and pass on the light of Christ to others, then translate what they had heard through drawing.

After lunch was served, gifts were presented to the participants and the day concluded with a prayer of gratitude for the gift of this blessed day.

It is worthy to note that this workshop was held in coordination and  cooperation with Sandak Initiative, as well as  coordinator of the Wells of Hope Initiative in Jordan Sister Cecile Hijazin of the Holy Rosary Sisters.

The participating students aged 12 to 17 took part in the workshop with a total number of participants standing  at 42, half of whom were from the Latin Marka School and the Ambassadors of Hope, while the other half was from the Iraqi School with its Director Mrs. Maryam Lutfi and Deaconess Nagham.
