On Monday, February 6, 2023  Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem His Beatitude Pierbattista Pizzaballa bestowed on Mrs. Manal Bawalsah the Medal of Golden Cross in appreciation of the sincere efforts she exerted in the service of the Latin Patriarchate for more than 33 years.

In attendance at the Latin Vicariate in Amman were Latin  Patriarchal Vicar for Jordan Bishop Jamal D'aibes, Latin Patriarchal Vicar for Jerusalem Bishop William Shomali, Latin Patriarchal Vicar for the Galilee Bishop Rafiq Nahra, and a number of priests.

In an address of appreciation, Patriarch Pizzaballa thanked Mrs. Bawalsah for her dedicated work at the finance department of the Latin Vicariate in Jordan for more than three decades. He said that her dedicated work was of great benefit because the Latin Patriarchate has several affiliated institutions that need accurate financial and accounting care, whereby this was demonstrated by Mrs. Bawalsah through her piety and prayers in the first place, as well as by her honesty and sincerity throughout these years, in addition to her continuous cooperation with the priests with whom she dealt with in a high spirit of brotherhood.

 Then, Fr. Bashir Bader read out the relevant Latin Patriarchate text which states, "His Beatitude Pierbattista Pizzaballa  extends divine blessings on Mrs. Manal Awwad Ishaq Bawasah in appreciation of her long efforts in the service of the Latin Patriarchate, and consequently bestows on her the Medal of Holy Golden Cross."

In the presence of her husband Sattam Al-Awabdeh as well as her sons and daughters, Mrs. Bawalsah thanked the Almighty God for engulfing her with the honor of being sincere in her work at the Mother Church. She also thanked Patriarch Pierbattista Pizzaballa and Bishop D'aibes as well as paid tribute to her colleagues at the finance department whom she considers as her second family.
