The GROW project (Generating Growth Opportunities and Productivity for Women Enterprises) has recently been launched at the Latin Vicariate in Amman in the presence of Apostolic Nuncio to Jordan Bishop Giovanni Pietro Dal Toso, Latin Patriarchal Vicar for Jordan Bishop Iyad Twal, and Archimandrite Boulos Nazha.
The project aims to empower Jordanian women through social, educational, and economic initiatives, with a special focusing on cultural and religious tourism. The project, launched in cooperation with local community organizations, provides psychosocial support, vocational training, and income-generating opportunities in areas such as sewing, mosaics, cooking, and hospitality. Furthermore, the project seeks to enhance the capacities of community organizations to ensure sustainability and maximize their community impact.
The launching of the project was attended by Caritas Director Wael Suleiman, representatives of the project's administrative team, and Greek Catholic Parish Priest in Jerash Fr. Yanal Awabdeh. The project will be conducted by Caritas Jordan with funding from the Italian Bishops' Conference (CEI). It covers areas in Jerash, Anjara, and Madaba through the Catholic and Latin churches located in these governorates.
