On the feast of the Annunciation, heaven gets closer to Earth, and God approaching humans, as this situation is not sudden but rather old and gradual.

On Thursday, March 25, Latin Patriarchal Vicar for Nazareth Monsignor Hanna Kildani celebrated Holy Mass at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Tla' Al-'Ali, western Amman, marking the Feast of the Annunciation. The Holy Mass was concelebrated by parish priest Fr. Dr. Rif'at Bader, assistant priest Fr. Simon Hijazin and Deacon Jubran Salameh. In attendance were Sisters of Saint Anne and a number of believers.

At the outset of the Holy Mass, Fr. Bader welcomed Fr. Kildani and greeted all those attending the Holy Mass. He pointed out that the Annunciation Day this year coincides with the Year of St. Joseph, namely the year dedicated to honoring Saint Joseph. He called for dedicating prayers to the dear homeland, the sick, the mourning, the suffering, and those who live in fear so that this year would bring about the good news of the elimination of this pandemic, consolation, reassurance and peace.

In his homily, Monsignor Kildani conveyed well wishes on the advent of the Feast of the Annunciation pointing out that the Arabic-language term for annunciation expresses closeness and love.

He said: On the feast of the Annunciation, heaven gets closer to Earth, and God approaching humans, as this situation is not sudden but rather old and gradual. God approached humans when he created them, and when he promised them with salvation. In Annunciation, God approached humans in a direct a vivid way when the angel sent by God to Blessed Mary revealed the salvation plan said, "Hail Mary full of grace."

He added in his homily, "The Annunciation conveys a message to the Christian families indicating that every one of them should follow the model of the Heavenly Father with prayer, mercy, solidarity, compassion and smiles. The fathers' presence among members of  their families should reflect humility and dedication by following the model of  Saint Joseph. Furthermore, the presence of  the mothers among the members of their families should follow the model of Blessed Mary with regards to motherly care. The Feast of the Annunciation is a school for families designed to follow the model of salvation which strengthens, heals, helps and provides energy to move forward."
