On Sunday, May 2, Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem His Beatitude Pierbattista Pizzaballa presided at a Holy Mass marking the feast of Saint Jacob the Apostle, the first bishop of Jerusalem, at the Church of the Latin Patriarchal Seminary in Beit Jala, the Holy Land, during which lectors Abdullah Elyas Dababneh, Youssef Ghassan Ibrahim, and Bassel Hanna Baransi were installed as lectors.

In attendance were Bishop Giacinto-Boulos Marcuzzo, Bishop Kamal Bathish, Rector of the Seminary of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem Fr. Yacoub Rafidi, and a number of Latin patriarchal priests. This ordination stresses the centrality of the word of God in the life of the clergy, of every consecrated person, and of every believer. It also invites people to read and meditate, and experience the word of God.

During the visit, Patriarch Pizzaballa inaugurated the Latin Patriarchal Seminary website www.slpj.org.
