Volunteers of Radio Mariam Aleppo established, for the first time, a live connection with Radio Mariam Armenia. It was a historic broadcast, as it took place in a city that is home to one of the oldest and largest Armenian communities of the diaspora.
The key moment of the live broadcast was the recitation of the Rosary from the Armenian Catholic Church of the Holy Trinity (Հայ Կաթողիկէ Սուրբ Երրորդութիւն եկեղեցի Հալէպ), aimed at strengthening the spiritual bond between the Armenian faithful of Aleppo and their cultural and religious roots.
The presence of Armenians in Aleppo dates back to the first centuries of Christianity and increased dramatically in 1915, following the Armenian genocide. Many Armenians found refuge in Aleppo (Syria), where over time numerous churches and community institutions were born.
