On Saturday, 10 January, 2025 Radio Maria Latvia celebrated the 10th anniversary of its founding, marking a significant milestone in the journey of evangelization and service carried out by Radio Maria in the Baltic country. The anniversary was celebrated with gratitude and joy, bringing together collaborators, volunteers, and listeners for an intense day of prayer, music, and testimonies.

The celebrations opened with Holy Mass presided over by the Archbishop of Riga, His Excellency Msgr. Zbigņevs Stankevičs, who in his homily recalled the importance of Radio Maria as an instrument for proclaiming the Gospel, offering spiritual support, and fostering unity within the Latvian Catholic community. Over these ten years, Radio Maria has reached families, the elderly, young people, and those searching for meaning, offering them words of hope and faith.

The day then continued with a concert and numerous testimonies retracing the history of Radio Maria Latvia: from the beginnings, marked by enthusiasm and sacrifice, to the development of its editorial and pastoral activities, made possible by the constant commitment of volunteers and collaborators. Their voices recounted a missionary experience that has grown step by step, sustained by prayer and by the generosity of listeners.

The large turnout was proof of how Radio Maria has become a deep-rooted reality, capable of touching people’s hearts and creating a true community. For those in charge and for all involved in the work of Radio Maria, this anniversary does not represent an endpoint, but rather a new beginning.

The journey of Radio Maria Latvia continues with renewed commitment, courage, and hope, in the awareness that the mission has only just begun and that much remains to be done to bring the Christian message into people’s homes and lives.
