The American University of Madaba (AUM) has proudly celebrated the 80th Anniversary of the Independence of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan--a national milestone shaped by the courage of its people, the strength of its institutions, and the wisdom of the Hashemite leadership.
Chairman of the Board of Trustees Eng. Azzam Shweihat,, and AUM President Professor Adi Arida welcomed a distinguished gathering of national, official, academic, and cultural figures, including H.E. Dr. Omar Razzaz, former prime minister; Mr. Hassan Al-Jbour, governor of Madaba; senators, members of parliament, former ministers; artists, and partners from across Jordan’s civic and cultural sectors.
The celebration reflected the spirit of Jordan through a rich program of patriotic, cultural, scientific, and artistic activities. Highlights included performances by the Public Security Directorate Band, patriotic poetry and student performances, an art exhibition, a National Library showcase featuring historical Jordanian manuscripts, robotics and design projects, as well as displays of traditional handicrafts and folkloric Jordanian cuisine across AUM’s green campus.
Above all, the celebration reflected the energy and aspirations of Jordanian youth that are deeply rooted in their national identity, proud of their country’s legacy, and committed to shaping its future with creativity, knowledge, and hope.
