Bethlehem University is proud to announce the official accreditation of its new Bachelor’s Program in Speech Therapy and Audiology by the Palestinian Ministry of Higher Education. Set to launch under the Tarek Ahmed Juffali Faculty of Nursing and Health Sciences in the upcoming academic year, this program is the first of its kind in Bethlehem and southern Palestine.
With a mission to address the growing needs of the Palestinian community, this innovative program combines rigorous academic learning with hands-on training in hospitals, schools, and specialized centers. The program focuses on diagnosing and treating speech and hearing disorders, equipping students with both theoretical knowledge and practical expertise to make an immediate impact in their communities.
“This program aims to prepare specialists with clinical competence and comprehensive knowledge to deliver exceptional care,” said Ms. Salam Awwad, Dean of the Faculty. “It also seeks to enhance students’ understanding of evidence-based research, develop their research skills, empower them to address the social stigma associated with disabilities, and promote community engagement. Additionally, it ensures proficiency in using assistive technology and delivering sustainable therapeutic interventions.”
Mr. Anan Ghabbash, Chairperson of Physical and Occupational Therapy Department, stated “we are proud to launch the Speech Therapy and Audiology program, which reflects Bethlehem University’s commitment to advancing healthcare services in Palestine and providing academic education that contributes to improving the quality of life for the community.”
Bethlehem University remains dedicated to its mission of fostering knowledge, innovation, and service.
