As part of its ongoing commitment to research excellence and international academic collaboration, Bethlehem University participated in the international training program of the NeuroDev Project, funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ Program, which aims to strengthen research capacities among partner universities and advance expertise in the study and diagnosis of neurodevelopmental disorders using state-of-the-art scientific methodologies.
The training was hosted by the University of Clermont Auvergne from 15–19 June 2026 and brought together researchers and academics from Palestinian and European higher education institutions. Bethlehem University was represented by Dr. Ahmed Fasfous, Dean of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Minerva Qassis Jaraysah, Ms. Hala Khalawi, and Ms. Reem Ramadan from the Department of Social Sciences.
Over the course of five intensive days, participants engaged in advanced training focused on neurodevelopmental research in children. The program introduced the latest scientific approaches for designing research studies and collecting, analyzing, and interpreting physiological and behavioral data. Participants received both theoretical and practical training on internationally recognized research technologies, including Electroencephalography (EEG), Eye Tracking, and Electrocardiography (ECG), as well as contemporary methods of data analysis and interpretation in scientific research.
The training also provided a valuable opportunity to explore innovative research practices, exchange expertise with international specialists, and build collaborative networks with researchers from European and Palestinian institutions. Discussions throughout the program focused on future opportunities for joint research initiatives that address scientific and societal priorities in Palestine.
This participation supports the broader objectives of the NeuroDev Project, which include establishing a university center dedicated to training and scientific research in neuropsychology and neurodevelopmental disorders. Through initiatives such as these, Bethlehem University continues to strengthen its research capabilities, expand international partnerships, and contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge that serves both academia and society.
Bethlehem University remains committed to fostering a vibrant research environment that empowers its academic community, promotes innovation, and enhances the University’s presence within global research networks.
