Jordan: Bishop Iyad Twal pays pastoral visit to Mafraq

On Friday, July 10, the Parish of St. Joseph in Mafraq, northern Jordan, welcomed His Excellency Latin Patriarchal Vicar for Jordan Bishop Iyad Twal who was accompanied by a number of permanent deacons.  Upon arrival, he was welcomed by parish priest Fr. Baha’ Istefan, and the parish permanent deacon, Hazem Nimri, in addition to parishioners and parish communities.

 

At the outset of his visit, Bishop Twal undertook an inspection tour of the departments of the school affiliated with the parish. Then, he celebrated Holy Mass which was concelebrated by the parish priest and the deacons. Following the  Holy Mass, he held a pastoral meeting with the parishioners in St. Pius hall.

 

He later visited the sick and the elderly of the parish who received the  Holy Communion. Then, he proceeded to the archaeological site of Umm Al-Jimal and the municipality building, where he was received by the officials and a number of workers at the archaeological site.
