By Munir Bayouk/ en.abouna.org :

On Tuesday, May 13, 2025, Latin Patriarchal Vicar in Jordan Bishop Iyad Twal, accompanied by Fr. Suleiman Shobash,  paid  an official and pastoral visit to the Bible Society in Amman. Upon arrival, he was welcomed by Secretary General Mundher N’emat, Chairman of the Administrative Board Fr. Dr. Ibrahim Dabbour, and Bible Society's members of staff. During the visit, the discussion dealt with Bible Society’s most prominent activities, services, and programs including a review of its mission since its establishment.

The visit included a tour of the Bible Society's library, located on Rainbow Street, which is one of the most prominent centers for Biblical sources and Christian books, which houses more than 2,000 titles and translations of the Bible in more than 30 languages that reflect the diversity and comprehensiveness of the Bible Society's message.

During his visit, Bishop Twal expressed his admiration for the prevalent dynamic spirit he encountered. He said, “I have a good, personal relationship with the Bible Society since the years I served in the West Bank, and today I see the high professionalism and constructive commitment evident in every detail of work. The Bible Society is an arm of the churches, and I want to emphasize the importance of developing programs to meet the needs of youth and the next generations in a rapidly evolving technological world." He added, "I was impressed by the rich message you carry, by the Bible Society's firm presence in the community, and by the ecumenical work that unites the Churches as one family."

For his part, Secretary General Mundher N’emat highly valued this visit, referring to it as a source of joy and encouragement for all those working at the Bible Society. He expressed great hope that it would be the beginning of deeper cooperation and a renewed partnership that would open new horizons in serving the Church and the society.
