Jordan: Bishop Twal visits Our Lady of Peace Center, receives well-wishers
By Munir Bayouk/ en.abouna.org :

On Monday, March 24, 2025, Latin Patriarchal Vicar in Jordan Bishop Iyad Twal, accompanied by Secretary General of the Latin Patriarchate Vicariate in Amman Fr. Imad Alamat, visited Our Lady of Peace Center which provides services to children with disabilities. Upon arrival, he was welcomed by the center's director Fr. Shawqi Baterian, Salesian nuns, the center's administrators and staff, in addition to the children receiving treatment.

Bishop Twal toured the center's departments and reviewed the services it has provided since its establishment in 2004. For more than 21 years, the center--founded by former Bishop Salim Sayeg--has been a reflection of the Latin Patriarchate's message towards the Jordanian society, which focuses on treating people free of charge, especially those in pain and the poor who look to the future with a spirit of hope who never despairs.

On the other hand, a delegation comprising of priests and parishioners from the southern Jordan visited Bishop Iyad Twal to convey well-wishes to him marking his episcopal ordination and his nomination as bishop of the Latin Church in Jordan. The delegation included Fr. Aldo Tolotto, Fr. Salem Lolas, Fr.r Khaled Qammouh, nuns, in addition to a delegation of well-wishers from the Latin Church parishes in Karak Governorate.

The visiting delegation expressed pride and appreciation for him wishing him success in his new pastoral mission, which contributes to strengthening the role of the Latin Church in Jordan and to deepening the relations of love and cooperation among the people of the country.

For his part, he thanked everyone for their gracious visit and affirmed that he will always be at the service of his parishioners, noting that the joint work will lead to the advancement of the Church and the nation.
