Within the framework of his pastoral visit to the parish of Irbid, His Beatitude Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, visited Caritas Irbid Center on Saturday May 16, accompanied by parish priest Fr. Firas Arida, and members of the parish council. He was welcomed by Greek Catholic parish priest Fr. Ghaleb Bawab, Acting Executive Director of Caritas Jordan Mr. Omar Abawi, and a team of Caritas Jordan members of staff.

During the visit, Cardinal Pizzaballa toured the various departments of Caritas Jordan center, listened to a detailed review of the workflow and the provided healthcare services, and listened to a detailed presentation about the plans implemented by the medical center that is designed to serve members of all shades of the local community. Cardinal Pizzaballa was also apprised of the ongoing efforts exerted in the implementation of projects, especially those related to medical services, primary healthcare, and mental health among others.

It is worth noting that the Caritas Irbid Center was established in 2018. Like Caritas centers, it continues to carry out its humanitarian mission by providing humanitarian assistance, as well as social and healthcare services which contributes to supporting and empowering the local community.
