Jordan: The Pastoral Family and Marriage Office concludes courses

By Munir Bayouk/en.abouna.org :

The Pastoral Family and Marriage Office of the Latin Patriarchate in Jordan has concluded preparatory courses for couples due to receive the Marriage Sacrament in Madaba and Amman.

In the last session titled, "Marital Love: Union and Procreation",  Dr. Amal Al-Shammas, a gynecology and obstetrics consultant, and Dr. Farnas Sahawneh discussed the medical and psychological aspects of the marital relationship.  Then, Fr. Bashir Bader spoke about the human and spiritual dimensions of the relationship with reference to union and procreation, as well as the parenthood responsibility in transmitting life and faith.

The session concluded with a brief prayer at the church, followed by a spiritual address by Latin Patriarchal Vicar in Jordan Bishop Iyad Twal, which was followed by presentation of certificates to the participants.

As the Pastoral Office concludes this distinguished service, it extends--on behalf of its Director Father Bashir Bader--thanks to the Latin Patriarchate for its support of these activities. It also pays tribute to the lecturers who enriched the meetings with their knowledge and experience, the judges of the Ecclesiatical Court, the families who shared their expertise, the Catholic Center for Studies and Media and en.abouna.org website for providing media coverage, and photography, as well as the parishes of Sweifieh, Tla' al-'Ali, and Madaba for hosting the meetings.

The office announces the launching of a special (online) course in early April for a number of engaged couples living abroad who will receive the Sacrament of Marriage in Amman.
