On Saturday, March 28, the Latin Patriarchal Vicariate in Jordan held an administrative and spiritual meeting, the second of its kind, for its employees who are working in the ecclesiastical court, school administration, the finance office, the Our Lady of Peace Center, the Catholic Center for Studies and Media, the Family Office, and the General Secretariat for Youth. The meeting took place at Our Lady of Peace Center themed, “How can our institutions transform from a workplace into a mission and a testimony?”
The meeting opened with a Holy Mass followed by an address given by Bishop Iyad Twal during which he welcomed the attendees, noting that this gathering is part of a series of family-style meetings that bring together the vicariate’s members of staff to consolidate a sense of affiliation and teamwork, and to deepen the missionary dimension of ecclesial service. He also highlighted the importance of continuing these meetings regularly due to their role in developing institutional work in a Christian and professional spirit.
Fr. Imad Twal delivered a lecture during which he stressed that working in the Church institution is not merely a job, but rather a spiritual and human mission. He proposed the “Golden Circle” model to understand what we do, how we work, and why we work. He also addressed the meaning of the Patriarchate’s existence and its mission, highlighting the difference between “hearing” and “listening,” that transcends the ear to include the mind, awareness, and understanding which builds trust among individuals through active engagement while touching the heart, awakens the mind, and inspires action.
