On Thursday May 21, the American University of Madaba (AUM) welcomed a delegation from the Supreme Presidential Committee for the Follow-up of Churches Affairs in Palestine, headed by Dr. Ramzi Khoury, chairman of the Higher Presidential Committee for Church Affairs in Palestine and member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, alongside Dr. Samir Hazboun and Mr. Raed Hanania.

The delegation was received by Chairman of the Board of Trustees Eng. Azzam Shweihat, Board Member Mr. Imad Al-Deir, and University President Prof. Dr. Adi Araida.

The visit included a meeting with students from Gaza who have started pursuing higher studies at the AUM, where discussions focused on their academic and living needs. The delegation praised the AUM’s efforts in providing a supportive educational environment and reaffirmed support for students abroad, highlighting education as key to strengthening youth resilience and future opportunities. Continued cooperation to empower Palestinian students academically and socially was also emphasized.

The visit concluded with a tour of the AUM’s facilities and laboratories, highlighting its academic and technical resources, followed by the exchange of commemorative shields in recognition of national and humanitarian efforts.
